What is the IFS Logistics Standard?

IFS Logistics is an internationally recognized standard, approved by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI), that applies to companies providing transportation, storage, distribution, as well as loading or unloading services for food and non-food products.
It covers all types of products (chilled, frozen, dry, or non-food) and all modes of transport (road, rail, sea, air).

As part of the International Featured Standards (IFS) family, it sets requirements for product safety, integrity, and quality throughout the supply chain.

The standard evaluates, among other things:

  • Compliance with hygiene and safety procedures
  • The ability to maintain appropriate storage/transport conditions
  • Traceability, documentation, and risk control
